Casa Pequeña

Merida, Yucatan, Mexico

UNDER CONTRUCTION

Built in the middle of the Yucatan jungles, Casa Pequeña sits as one of the first homes built in the Altozano community in Merida. The 944 square meter home, designed as a minimalist interpretation of a modern Mediterranean home, comes with 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and a high tech twist. 48 solar arrays line the roof to provide a significant reduction in power from the grid. The Yucatan Peninsula has many hot and humid days so, to minimize electricity use, the home uses traditional cooling methods by harnessing cross-ventilation winds to keep the home naturally ventilated.
