The Sentinel House
Tucson, AZ
The Sentinel house was designed as a collaborative studio project at the University of Arizona. Under the guidance of Mary Hardin under the Drachman Design-Build Institute we designed a low-income home for a low-income program in Tucson, AZ. The 1200 square foot home experimented with low-energy materials and technologies. With the help of Paul Schwam, the inventor of the construction method, the studio explored the potential of scoria, a building material made of locally-prevalent crushed volcanic rock.
